Privacy Policy

The short version: we keep what the site needs to work, we do not sell it or show you adverts, and you can delete all of it whenever you like.

01

Who we are

EasyGrades is a GCSE revision site at easygrades.co.uk, run from the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, EasyGrades is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at hello@easygrades.co.uk.

02

What we collect

Only what the site needs to work:

  • Your email address, and a password if you choose one. Passwords are stored hashed, never as typed.
  • If you sign in with Google: the Google account ID, your name, your email address and your profile picture, as Google provides them. We do not receive your Google password and cannot see anything else in your Google account.
  • What you tell us during setup: your first name, your school year and the subjects, exam boards and tiers you are taking.
  • What you do on the site: the papers you sit, the answers you type, the marks you get and the lessons you complete. This is the whole point of the site, so it is stored against your account.
  • Your IP address, briefly, to stop password guessing and other abuse. It is not attached to your account.
03

Why we use it

To run your account and keep you signed in, to email you sign-in and password codes, to mark your papers and show you what to revise, and to keep the site secure. Our legal basis is performing the service you asked for, and our legitimate interest in keeping it safe.

We do not sell your information, we do not show adverts, and we do not use your data to train anything.

04

Cookies

One strictly necessary cookie keeps you signed in. A second, short-lived one carries you through Google sign-in or a password reset. There are no tracking or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie banner.

05

Who else sees it

Two companies help us run the site, each seeing only what they need:

  • Resend (resend.com) sends our emails, so it processes your email address and the contents of the messages we send you.
  • Google handles sign-in if you choose to use it, under Google's own privacy policy.

The site and its database run on a server in the European Union. UK law recognises the EU as offering adequate protection for personal data.

06

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. Delete your account from Settings and everything goes at once: your papers, your marks, your subjects, your sessions. Server logs that may contain your IP address are kept for a short period and then discarded.

07

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Most of this you can do yourself in Settings; for anything else, email hello@easygrades.co.uk and we will sort it. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

08

Age

You need to be 13 or over to have an account. If you are under 13 and have made one, ask a parent or carer to email us and we will remove it.

09

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on the site before it takes effect. The date at the top is when it was last updated.

Questions about any of this: email hello@easygrades.co.uk. See also the Terms.
